Like our FoodZen Personal Chef business, we strive to purchase wholesome ingredients. Most of our premade meals are dairy-free, gluten-free, and use minimal processed foods.

FoodZen can help you save an average of 10 hours per week not having to worry about shopping and cooking. Not everyone feels comfortable in the kitchen or enjoys cooking. With FoodZen our meals are fully cooked, just reheat and enjoy. No stressing about following recipe cards. AND BONUS, in an effort to reduce waste, our meals come prepared in 1 or 2 containers depending on the bundle size you select.
Multiple servings per meal, not just single servings
In an effort to reduce waste our meals are packaged in individual (1 serving), couple (2 servings), family (4 servings) and large family (6 servings) sizes. That means if you order 3 meals family size, you'll receive each meal in 1 container with 4 servings instead of 12 individual containers.
We favour whole foods over processed ones
Whole foods are unprocessed or minimally processed, while processed foods are deliberately altered from their natural state. Whole foods are generally higher in nutrients and lower in calories and sugar than processed foods.
Whole foods can help lower the risk of heart disease, cancer, and type 2 diabetes. They can also help control blood sugar and lower bad fats in the blood. Eating a diet rich in whole foods may also help decrease inflammation.
By favouring whole foods over processed ones, most of FoodZen's meals are naturally dairy-free, gluten-free, low in sugar and low in sodium.
We favour quality cuts of meat over ground meat
Other pre-made meal services often substitute quality cuts of meat with ground meat to reduce their overall costs. FoodZen tries to stay true to the authentic cuisines. For example, if we are making a beef and pepper skillet or Korean beef, we use flank steak instead of ground beef. We want our customers to get the most out of their money.
We use natural sugars
Instead of refined and heavily processed sugars, we use natural sugars like local maple syrup, honey and maple sugar
We use unrefined sea salt
Unrefined sea salt contains all its natural minerals and properties
We make our own seasonings and sauces
FoodZen is on a mission to make all of our seasonings and sauces from scratch, significantly reducing the amount of sodium and sugar found in store-bought ingredients. Unfortunately, we don't know how to make soy sauce or fish sauce from scratch yet, so we can't completely avoid store-bought sauces, but if you know someone who can teach us, send them our way!
We focus on balanced meals using whole foods
One of the easiest ways to eat healthier is not to avoid or cut foods out of your diet but to favour whole foods over processed ones first. FoodZen strives to create balanced meals with 5 oz of protein, 5 oz of vegetables and 3-4 oz of a grain or starchy vegetable.
(If you're a smaller eater, you may get 1.5 to 2 meals out of 1 serving)

HOW TO ORDER
1) First, sign up and pay for one of our meal plans.
2) New menus are posted every Friday.
***NOTE*** If you sign up Sunday after 5:00 PM and before Friday at 6:00 AM, you will get a separate email letting you know when to make your meal selections.
3) Menu selections are due Sunday by 5:00 PM.
4) Deliveries are scheduled for Wednesdays between 2:30 PM and 5:30 PM.
