Destiny Moser
Owner & Head Chef
Hi! I’m Destiny, the owner & Head Chef at FoodZen. My goal is to help lift the burden off of busy families, professionals, and aging seniors in our region by providing them with healthy and nutritious meals that are customized to their individual tastes and dietary needs.
Before graduating with honours from Top Toques Institute of Culinary Excellence, I spent over a decade as a business systems and operations specialist in the fast-paced, high-tech world. As a mom of three, I understand the demands of a busy schedule and the challenges of a work/life balance.
Growing up in Waterloo Region I spent hours in my grandmother’s kitchen developing my passion for wholesome, nutritious food. As my passion for food grew, and my ability to travel increased, I was able to expand my knowledge of international foods. Cooking has become an expression of my love for my family, friends, and the many local organizations I volunteer with, including The Kitchener Market, CISV Waterloo Region, and Timea’s Cause.
I created FoodZen to help bring zen to busy family schedules, assist professionals in a better work/life balance, and help seniors maintain their independence, giving you peace of mind so you can devote more time to the things you need to!
Caleb Gaul
Personal Chef
Caleb’s passion for food began at the age of 7 when he helped his parents make his breakfasts and spent time with his grandma creating meals. This was a time in his life that opened his eyes to the culinary world and the wild potential of the art. For the following 14 years, he grew his love for good food by watching network chefs, primarily Michael Smith, Bobby Flay, Guy Fieri and Giada De Laurentiis. During that same time, he also took it upon himself to improve his passion by researching and experimenting with varying cuisines and recipes. All the while building his own repertoire of usable skills, techniques and recipes.
Caleb attended Conestoga Colleges Culinary Management Program where he graduated receiving the Susur Lee Award of Excellence. During that time and through COVID he worked as a cook for Schlegels Pinehaven Nursing Home.
As a Personal Chef, he puts great care and effort into building wonderful and delicious meals. He specializes in rustic comfort food but is quite comfortable cooking foods from around the world. Caleb is ecstatic to join FoodZen as a Personal Chef and to create exciting custom menus for his clients, combining healthy ingredients, great taste and comfort.
Sumit Raghav
Personal Chef
Sumit has been fueled with a passion for cooking food since he started helping his mother and grandmother in the kitchen in Northern India at a young age. He took his interest in cooking further by studying Hotel and Hospitality Management in Mumbai, India and started his career as a cook at a 5-star luxury hotel in Dubai. He was named Young Chef of the Month, in November 2021, for Hot off the Grill magazine by the Culinary Federation of Canada and has had the honour of cooking for a Prime Minister and a few celebrities, but his lips are sealed on which ones.
After a brief return home to work in a Japanese restaurant and start his own business, his itch to travel and learn from world-renowned chefs grew too strong. Sumit came to Canada and studied culinary management at Conestoga College. Since then, he has worked for many local restaurants and learned from renowned chefs.
During COVID Sumit honed in on his butchery skills working at a butcher shop while simultaneously working with the Research Institute of Ageing in the development of recipes and execution of meals. More recently Sumit was head chef at Ruby Restaurant in The Village at University Gates before embarking on a new adventure of being a Personal Chef.
As a Personal Chef, he wants to bring FoodZen by helping you find peace in your day-to-day while providing you with the International and Canadian cuisines he has learned along the way.
Vaylene Phillips

Vaylene developed her passion for cooking at a young age while learning to cook Caribbean and Southern-Style food. Once she moved to Canada she also started to appreciate the rich mosaics of food Ontario had to offer.
As a classically trained student of the Top Toques Institute of Culinary Excellence, Vaylene has expanded her knowledge and appreciation for international and fine dining cuisines. She has been a private chef for 2 separate families over the years and spends her weekends cooking at Toronto's #1 addiction rehab centre.
