Destiny Moser

Owner & Head Chef

Hi! I’m Destiny, the owner & Head Chef at FoodZen. As a working mom of three, I understand the demands of a busy schedule and the challenges of a work/life balance. That's why I created FoodZen, a personal chef and pre-made meal delivery service designed to bring some zen to your busy life.

Although I specialize in a wide variety of international foods, as an Indigenous chef my focus is to create meals using ingredients that are hyper-local and ultra-seasonal. This farm-to-table approach supports many local businesses and favours whole foods over processed ones. Because of this approach, many of my meals are free of most priority allergens.

I also work closely with the Indigenous community to provide teaching and workshop experiences for others to learn about not only Indigenous food but about healthy eating, food sovereignty and sustainability.

So, whether you're a working professional looking for a stress-free meal plan, a family trying to juggle it all, or a senior wanting to maintain your independence, FoodZen's got you covered. Let's bring some zen to your table and make life a bit easier. Cheers to good food and good vibes!
 


Sumit Raghav

Personal Chef

Sumit has been fueled with a passion for cooking food since he started helping his mother and grandmother in the kitchen in Northern India at a young age. He took his interest in cooking further by studying Hotel and Hospitality Management in Mumbai, India and started his career as a cook at a 5-star luxury hotel in Dubai. He was named Young Chef of the Month, in November 2021, for Hot off the Grill magazine by the Culinary Federation of Canada and has had the honour of cooking for a Prime Minister and a few celebrities, but his lips are sealed on which ones.

After a brief return home to work in a Japanese restaurant and start his own business, his itch to travel and learn from world-renowned chefs grew too strong. Sumit came to Canada and studied culinary management at Conestoga College. Since then, he has worked for many local restaurants and learned from renowned chefs.

During COVID Sumit honed in on his butchery skills working at a butcher shop while simultaneously working with the Research Institute of Ageing in the development of recipes and execution of meals. More recently Sumit was head chef at Ruby Restaurant in The Village at University Gates before embarking on a new adventure of being a Personal Chef.

As a Personal Chef, he wants to bring FoodZen by helping you find peace in your day-to-day while providing you with the International and Canadian cuisines he has learned along the way.


Jason Robb

Personal Chef

I'm Jason Robb, and I've been cooking professionally for 19 years. Over the years, I've had the chance to work in various cooking settings, ranging from pubs, fine dining, and hotels to even owning a restaurant. I also completed the apprenticeship program at Humber College, which added to my culinary expertise.

Throughout my career, I've had the pleasure of exploring and mastering a wide range of cuisines, leaving me with few recipes I can't tackle. However, what sets me apart is my desire to go beyond the traditional restaurant kitchen experience. This led me to FoodZen and to becoming a personal chef, seeking new challenges and culinary adventures.

As a personal chef, my primary goal is to create exceptional meals that bring joy to my clients while honing my skills continuously. I take pride in my career achievements, from successfully opening a restaurant to serving as the Food Service Director at Nova Scotia's largest pediatric kids camp. It's immensely rewarding to have parents and kids express their gratitude for the meals my team and I provided each week.

My journey in the culinary world has not only been fulfilling but has also allowed me to meet incredible people along the way. With our services, I aim to bring delicious food to our clients and make their lives more convenient.
